Classic Velocity

Besides the obvious changes to the bodywork, the 912 was given the 1980s treatment inside as well. It had an 80s stereo with some weighty rear deck mounted box speakers. It had a third brake light mounted inside as well. Lamp cord speaker wire was all over the interior as well. I had to chuckle as I cleaned out the car. Next it was on to the engine compartment where the first layers of grime were removed. The Webers were brown from a film of varnished fuel. A few hoses needed replacement. There is still work to do on the linkage, and many other issues, but the car is slowly exiting the eighties….
