Vettel about to clean right ear..Well, the start to the collective seasons has not been dull. However, in Formula 1, that has been mostly due to the weather.  The elimination of refueling, slower new teams, and tire rules were predicted to virtually eliminate overtaking in F1 and reduce it to a procession. The race in Australia seemed to confirm that fear. It has been a different case since then. Rain in Malaysia and China has dramatically impacted practice, qualifying, and the actual races. It has made tire strategy the biggest factor in 2 of the 3 races, and has resulted in lots of pit stops and overtaking as tires wear and lapped traffic is encountered. Exciting stuff, but weather can’t be counted on to impact every race so the jury is still out. Button leads the championship race in the early stages, but there are 5 divers within striking distance. Vettel in the Red Bull has been dominant, and if not for 2 DNFs, he would be well ahead in the points. Stay tuned…

Rossi cleans left ear…In Moto GP, the Doctor is in. Rossi set a lap record during testing and put the field on notice. Then he ran away with the first race of the season, once Stoner crashed out early on. Rossi is off to a good start and another championship would not be a surprise.  In WSBK, Leon Haslam on his Suzuki has a narrow lead over Max Biaggi on the Aprilia. Troy Corser on the BMW currently sits in 9th which is not bad, but when viewed against the Aprilia they continue to struggle.

Loeb cleans everyone’s clock…In the WRC, Sebastian Loeb continues to stamp his dominance on the sport. After coming 2nd in the first race to Hirvonen, pundits thought that the inevitable changing of the guard was about to take place. Not so. Loeb won the next two rallies in his inimitable dominant style. Loeb won rally Mexico by 24 seconds, rally Jordan by 35 seconds, and Turkey by almost a minute. He seems to just turn things up a notch on demand . Simply Brilliant ! With this guy getting better with each race, his rivals are left to pray for misfortune.
